Greetings from Universitas Muhammadiyah Tangerang (UMT). I am very pleased to welcome you to our website and to our university.
Universitas Muhammadiyah Tangerang was established in 2009 as one of the business affiliation of the Muhammadiyah organization. The merger between three Muhammadiyah’s higher education institutions in Tangerang (Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi, STIE; Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam, STIA and Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan, STIKES) paved the way for establishing the university.
UMT has recorded a remarkable achievement in its relatively young age in terms of student body. In fact, UMT has a total undergraduate and graduate enrolment of 17.000 students which is one of the biggest in Banten region. UMT welcomes student from across the country with diverse background. Beyond that number, however, UMT has determined to keep advancing towards national and global recognition. In the long run, UMT aspire to be among the best of their kind in an international perspectives.
In the spirit mutual and equal cooperation we would like to welcome the prospective students and the potential collaborators all over the world in education, research, service, and including our fourth mission: Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan that is frequently characterized as a moderate Islam. Darmasiswa is a scholarship program offered to all foreign students from countries which have diplomatic relations with Indonesia to study Indonesian language (Bahasa Indonesia), art and culture in 54 universities in 2015. This program was established in 1974 as part of ASEAN initiative, admitting only students from ASEAN. However, in 1976 this program was extended further to other countries. To date, the number of countries participating in this program is more than 111 countries and organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture (MoEC), Republic of Indonesia.
IISMA is the Government of Indonesia scholarship scheme to fund Indonesian students for mobility program at top Universities overseas. Undergraduate students could spend one semester at the overseas university partner to study, to experience the host country's culture and undertake practical assignments to hone their skills.
