Tangerang, October 25, 2025 — The Director of the Office of International Affairs (KUI) at Muhammadiyah University of Tangerang (UMT), Dr. Aidil Syah Putra, S.Hum., M.Pd., was officially elected as Chairman of the Association of International Affairs Offices of Muhammadiyah and ‘Aisyiyah Universities (PTMA) throughout Indonesia. The election took place through a rigorous and democratic process at a national forum held at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta (UMS).
The event was attended by representatives of International Affairs Offices from all PTMAs in Indonesia, with the main agenda being to strengthen the synergy and strategic direction of the internationalization of Muhammadiyah and ‘Aisyiyah universities. Through transparent voting, Dr. Aidil successfully secured the trust of the majority of participants to lead the association for the 2025–2027 term.

In his remarks, Dr. Aidil expressed his gratitude for the trust given to him and emphasized his commitment to strengthening international networks and encouraging global collaboration within the Higher Education Institutions (PTMA).
“This trust is not just a personal trust, but a collective responsibility to bring all PTMA to international standards of competitiveness and progress. We will expand academic collaboration, research, and student and lecturer exchanges to ensure PTMA’s global recognition,” he said.
The Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Tangerang, Dr. H. Desri Arwen, M.Pd., also expressed his pride in Dr. Aidil’s election as Chair of the KUI PTMA Association. He stated that this achievement reflects UMT’s concrete role in developing international cooperation and expanding its positive influence in higher education.
“We deeply appreciate and are proud of Dr. Aidil’s election. This is proof that UMT is nationally recognized for its internationalization. Hopefully, his leadership will instill a new spirit of collaboration and further promote PTMA’s global recognition,” he said.
With the election of Dr. Aidil, as the Chairman of the Indonesian Association of KUI PTMA, hopes that strategic programs in strengthening international capacity, developing global networks, and educational diplomacy can continue to develop for the advancement of all Muhammadiyah and ‘Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions in Indonesia.
